Trying my hand at some more watercolor. I have really been inspired by *puimun and her beautiful art lately. This is just very simple, getting used to watercolor again. We have a swamp out near our apartment, and I was going to do this elaborate swamp scene, but went with the simple instead. I think it is more my style. Sorry for the poor quality. I don't have a scanner at the moment, so I am using my webcam. I even have a digital camera, but I don't know how to use it :P. So I am using a crappy webcam...

colors and transparent effect on leaves, really nice, so is the 'amount' of branch/leaf shared nice, rather oriental in effect

I have tried my hand at chinese brush painting. I don't really have much to show for it yet, but I love how they can have an entire composition consisting of just one branch or one stalk of bamboo. This composition was inspired by such paintings. Chinese brush painting is so different from anything that I have done before. It really takes a lot of concentration, and I probably won't put anything up until I feel that I have really mastered the art. It is sort of something that I am practicing in secret. But for now, a lot of my paintings will probably take on some aspect of those oriental paintings. Thanks for the comment!

I am in tears right now! You've done it again, my beautiful daughter. You know my love for the autumn season, and these leaves depict the season so perfectly! As you know, I'm not an artist at all, therefore, I cannot critique it the way an artist would. Suffice it to say, this watercolor is breathtaking! I am so proud of you, and I love you more than the breath in my body.

I haven't tried Chinese brush painting. It is very beautiful.
